Jeremy and Chelsea – Engagement Session

Jeremy was a groomsmen in John and Kelly’s wedding that I photographed last year. So I was honored that they called about wedding photography when they got engaged. It is always nice to work with friends and relatives of previous clients.

We shot their engagement session in Nashville last weekend. Started at MTSU in Floyd Stadium since they both love football and she went to school there. Then we met back up a little later at the Parthenon in Centennial Park. After that we walked around downtown on Broad Street and the walking bridge. I really do like Nashville a lot… thanks for having me up guys!

Ken and Bethany – June 25, 2011

Beautiful setting. Beautiful people. Beautiful day!

Ken and Bethany got married at her family’s farm just south of Chattanooga in Flintstone, GA. It is an amazing farm with a working mill, several homes, hidden gardens, an organic fruits and vegetable garden and lots and lots of trees. The wedding ceremony was held in the entryway of the main home and the reception was under a tent in the front of the home.

Geof and Paige – May 21, 2011

It was an honor and a privilege to photography my brother’s wedding! I could use this space to make some embarrassing comments about him since I was not given the mic during the reception but I may just pass in favor of a few things I have grown to really appreciate about him. Geof knows I have a weakness for dates so he always reminds me of important dates (relatives birthdays etc.). He checks in every so often just to make sure things are still going ok. He always has an open door if I am in town (even if it is open to his tiny little one room apartment). And he always gets to tickled to introduce me as his “little” brother (I am only a foot and a half taller and 100lbs bigger than him). I don’t know Paige all that well but what I do know is that she makes Geof really happy and that cant be bad :)

Bill and Jill – May 7, 2011

Road trip to Racine, WI. I never thought I would say that :) I had a lot of fun though and I would totally do it again.

Jill and the girls started their morning at Profiles Salon where they all got their hair done. Then we went to the church for makeup and final prep. The fun really got rolling when I made the entire bridal party go rock climbing at the marina downtown. They were all troopers and I think we made it out without any injuries… speak now or forever hold your peace.

The church was packed out for these two. Lots of tears and emotion in that building as they said their vows :) The party rolled on at the Marriott until the wee hours of the morning. Some celebrations spilled out into the parking lot but I will not speak of that. All I will say is… gas cans Bill? Really? Truly guys it was such a pleasure to be there with you and I am so glad you trusted me to record it for you!

Avalene – December 27, 2010

This is my sweet little niece Avalene. Seemed like she had grown so much since the last time I saw her and it was only in August! She had just begun walking and now she is running around like it was nothing.

Last year Willem ignored her almost completely but we were pretty sure that Willem and her were going to be best buds this Christmas after he showed some interested right off the bat. Alas Avalene grew weary of his hugs and was scared of him most of the trip. That’s alright Avalene who wants hugs all the time anyway ;) I think she was scared of me by association too cause I could barely get a snuggle.

Finlay Family – December 19, 2010

I love seeing children I have photographed grow up. It doesn’t seem like 3 years ago I was at the Finlay’s to take pictures of their daughter when she was 6 months old and here I am taking pictures of their son at the same age! How fun. I think this is all so much more fun for me now that I have kids and see how they interact as well.

I hope it isn’t 3 years before I get to see you guys again :)

Bill and Jill – Engagement Session

I have known Jill for a while now. We went to the same college long ago. I didn’t know her from there so much as I knew her as my sister in law’s roommate. Our paths crossed here and there and we have even spent a couple holiday’s together as guests in the Bos home. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to talk to them about shooting their wedding this coming May in Racine, WI.

As it turns out, they were interested in shooting some engagement photos to be used as Christmas card photos so I flew up to LaCrosse, WI where she is a surgical resident and we did some engagement photos in the freshly fallen snow. It was really fun! We wandered around the riverfront and downtown area trying hard to act like it was not 14 degrees with 6 inches of snow on the ground. We even found a set of swings that we trudged across about a quarter mile of snow covered ground to get to! Thanks for the fun guys. I am looking forward to your wedding in May.

David and Lucretia – Engagement Session

I met Lucretia and David out at Walnut Hill Farm where they will be getting married in October. It was really beautiful. I think we hit just at the peak of fall colors too and the view out there was amazing. I am pretty excited about this wedding :)

Brett and Alexa – September 25, 2010

Alexa and Brett actually got married in Scotland about a week after I came home from there earlier this fall. Crazy enough our paths could have even crossed while I was there :) Alas we didnt and I had to wait til their stateside reception to met them.

I started at Alexa’s parent’s house with Brett and Alexa getting ready together. Yes that is the first time that has happen for me. It was really cool having the bride and groom together to get ready. She helped him with his bow tie and he helped with her bow… sweet really. The actual reception was at the Lookout Mountain Golf and Country Club. Good food, good band, great night. I am glad I could help you guys remember the evening! Congratulations again!

Chris and Ashley – August 28, 2010

I have been lucky enough to shoot weddings all over this year! This is my first wedding of my own in Nashville and it was awesome. Great couple, big beautiful church, awesome reception location and Nashville is just a really cool town!

My day started with Ashley at the Green Pea Salon which was a converted gas station… I knew I was in a cool place when they were selling bacon chocolate bars! We did some pictures all around downtown Nashville including Printer’s Alley, The Hermitage Hotel and the Capitol Building. The wedding was at Downtown Presbyterian Church and the reception was at The Cannery Ballroom. All in all a wedding day I will not soon forget. Thanks for letting me be part!
