You guys might remember Kressa and John from their engagement session or their wedding photos. Well they are having a baby and called me to do some maternity photos for them. I had actually never done maternity photos but Kressa and I were on the same page and we shot them just like we would have shot an engagement session. Congratulations guys you are going to love being parents!

Bradley and Tiffany – February 27, 2010

I have known Tiffany for a LONG time… ok well not that long but in terms of my normal client relationship it has been a long time. Let’s just say Tiffany was really on the ball planning this wedding :) You can tell too. Everything was just how she wanted it and she did all of her planning so she could just sit back and enjoy her day.

Which started at Stone Fort Inn, in Chattanooga, where the brides got ready for the day. They also hosted a bridal breakfast there at the bed and breakfast. I love the atmosphere there and the staff is always so great! I hit up the Read House to catch up with the guys for a bit before heading over to the Saints Peter and Paul church for the ceremony.

Reception was at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club where the crew always puts out a great spread. The early afternoon reception time didn’t slow down the party at all! Congratulations and thanks for having me there guys!

Before and After

Sometimes people ask about how I get from a photo shoot to a finished set of images. Here is the typical process:

1. Images get imported into my post processing application (Adobe Lightroom)
2. Images are sorted into keepers and “others”
3. Adjustments are made to color correct and adjust contrast
4. Minor cropping if necessary
5. Output for desired use (web, print, etc.)

So here is a before and after example of an image. I hardly ever do anything other than the steps above and the image below is probably more drastic than 75% of what I do. Everything was done in Lightroom except the border and logo placement which is a Photoshop action I created to make images for the blog.

Mary Handly – November 29, 2009

I got the chance to take Mary Handly’s 9 month photos for her on Sunday. She was so cute and a perfect subject. Smiling and clapping all the way through a few clothing changes, environment changes and a feeding :) Thanks for sharing your afternoon with me guys!

Let’s face it… I have loved this kid from the start. He stole my heart the moment I saw him :) His little personality has always been so fun and it just keeps getting better and better. He is always up for a game up peek-a-boo or come and catch me. I still love him even though he most loves to play these games when I am so tired I can hardly stay away at 6:30 AM :)

Anyway I took these a couple weeks ago when my mom was here and finally got them off the camera tonight and thought I would share them.

Kenny and Katherine – Engagement Session

Seems as if I saved all the work for the past few weeks! I am glad that this engagement session was one of them though.

I met Kenny and Katherine out at the Chickamauga Battlefields in time for the best light of the day. We chased the sun around to a couple locations in the park all the while elbowing other photographers and their subjects for all the good natural props and backgrounds. Heheh. Thanks for roaming the park with me guys!

John and Kelly – Engagement Session

I am way behind on a lot of things so I will keep this one short… This was a session of firsts here are a couple.

First time for a couple to have a cut grass fight.
First time for a couple to TOTALLY wipe out while sledding on a chunk of cardboard.
First time a future bride has tracked dog dooty into my car ;)
Other than the dog stuff, we had a blast and I am looking forward to the wedding!

Chris and Ashley – Enagement Session

I love when couples have a story. These two have a great story of being acquaintances all their lives but not until much later reconnecting at none other than a gas station. It was a glance and a chat and that was all it took to put these two together for good.

I went up to Nashville to do this session because we just had to go to that hole in the wall out in the middle of nowhere gas station where it happen. We did some shots downtown Nashville before heading out to Dickson for the gas station.

After we got done with pictures we all went honky tonking downtown. Didn’t see any celebrities but it was loads of fun! Thanks for the opportunity guys and hopefully we can go again :)
