Wow… Erin and I came down to Atlanta last night for some relaxation and turns out we drove right into a MAJOR storm!
Thursday night we got on Priceline.com to see about getting a whale of a deal on a fancy hotel. As it turns out there is something like a basketball tournament or something going on so we could not get any hotel rooms in the areas we like to come down and stay in. Lucky we couldn’t cause there was a tornado that tore through the area and we would have been in harms way! Check out a photo gallery of some of the damage HERE.
What we did get was a room in the Westin Hotel at Perimeter. Very nice and convenient to the interstate to get to all our favorite places. But it was a little scary to wake up this morning to Erin’s sister in Chicago calling to see if we were ok. We only knew of strong rain and some thunderstorms.
To top it all off, there was another band of destructive and deadly tornadoes that passed to the north of us this afternoon. Pretty scary stuff. They are getting 2-3″ hail up there.
I met John and Kressa in Coolidge park which has a couple of my favorite places to shoot. I love the bridge supports and Walnut Street Bridge. Plus it is one of the prettiest skyline sunset’s in all of Chattanooga. That was what I was looking forward to. Their only request was for some pictures on the bridge since that is where John proposed so I made sure to get a few different shots with the bridge in there. I had a great time and I dont think they minded my directive to “give a little kiss” ;) Be looking forward to their wedding photos in May.

I had the distinct honor of second shooting for a good friend and mentor Jason Connel at couple weekends ago. The wedding was a great one at the Read House here in Chattanooga. Everyone was staying there, they got ready there, the wedding was there, and the reception was there :) It was pretty nice.
Heather and the ladies had a relaxed morning with a whole crew of makeup and hair while Michael was, I think sleeping :) We did some portriats around the hotel and then outside at miller plaza where it was freezing!
Wedding was in the terrace ballroom which was decorated in a winter theme. Phillip from Soundforce did a great of lighting the room. I highly recommend Soundforce btw. Phillip is the best DJ I have worked with yet! Then after the ceremony we moved right next door for the reception in the Silver Ballroom. Great venue and great party.
Thanks for having me along Jason. Thanks to Michael and Heather for letting me hang around with them all day too :)

I met Jenn and Tyler a long time ago. You might remember I did their engagement photos over a year ago in the dead of winter! Heheh good times.
Anyway I shot their wedding yesterday on Leap Day… Yes folks, Tyler will not have to remember his anniversary for 4 years. Although I think that would make it harder for me to remember. Our day started at the Choo Choo where Jenn and the girls got ready as the guys polished off the keg from the night before :)
Then it was over to the Hunter Museum for the rest of the day. Great place to hang out and have a wedding. River Street Deli did the catering and the food was awesome as usual.
It was lots of fun and I think these two are happy to be married. I think they are also happy to be heading off to Greece for their honeymoon. Pretty nice eh? I am only wishing I could go along to take some snapshots for them :) Have fun guys!
Oh I almost forgot to mention I got to hang out with Kandice Ledford for a while too. She came to shoot the ceremony with me since I had never shot the Hunter before :) Thanks Kandice.
