15Feb08Lens Focus Test

I wanted to post this before I lose track of it again.

I get questions about lens sharpness from time to time and my first question is always “Have you run your lens through a focus test?” Invariably the answer is no. To which I always reply “do some focus tests under controlled conditions and then evaluate the results.” So HERE is where you can read up on how to do the test with links to a downloadable focus test chart that you can print and glue to a box or board or something flat. So if you think your lens is not focusing properly TAKE THE TEST :)

13Feb08Brian and Maggie – February 9, 2008

I love this couple! I had so much fun getting to know them this week… between their engagement session and dinner on Wednesday night and then their wedding on Saturday. I love when couples are so in love they cant hide it and that was these two! Constantly smiling and genuinely enjoying each other’s company.

Anyway my day started with Maggie and the girls at Hair A Go Go, which is my new favorite salon. It was a hopping place with people busselling all around the entire time we were there. Then we headed back to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church for the ladies to get ready. Glad I had Rich along to cover the guys for me… thanks Rich. Ceremony was incredible with a full bagpipe and drum corp band. I got goose bumps every time they started playing. Very good choice guys. I wanted them to hang around and keep playing all day :)

The reception was at the Cleveland Country Club. Dancing, toasts, and lots of fun! Great center pieces by Rhon’s Floral Designs. This was a great way to start the wedding season! Thanks for having me along Maggie and Brian!

12Feb08A Little Info

7Feb08Brian and Maggie – Engagement Session

Maggie and Brian are here all the way from Chicago for their wedding which is this Saturday! We had to delay their engagement session due to some illness the last time they were down. It all worked out just as well. I will say I think they thought they were back in the Windy City at least once or twice last night as the wind whipped up and down the riverfront :) At least it was not snowing!

3Feb08Kelli and Reggie – Engagement Session

This was my first engagement session of the new year and it was a good one. Kelli and Reggie drove in from Alabama yesterday afternoon and met me downtown at the Bluff View Art District where we did some fun pictures with Kelli’s son and the two of them. Then Kelli and Reggie and I went down on Main street to find some more industrial settings. Here is what we ended up with.
