8Jun07Peyton Manning and the Media
Interesting how these sorts of things come about. I was sitting at my desk at work when I got a call from Sylvia over at Chattanooga Style Magazine. She needed someone to go photograph Peyton Manning at his locally co-owned gym D1 Sports Training center.
When I told my co-workers (who are all TN Vols fans) they were a touch on the jealous side seeing how I was not completely sure I could pick him out of a crowd :) Anyway it was fun and I have now been to my first press conference as a photographer. Here are a few of the pics I took.

DUDE!!! We *have* to rectify this, my friend. I am not a Vols fan, either, but this is Peyton…who has risen above and beyond the limits of being a former wearer of the Orange and White! We’re talking pro-sports here. I hereby suggest that you block all cable channels except for CSS, ESPN, ESPN2 and FOXSS. :D

*laughing at Scott…it sounds like your friends will take your lack of knowledge firmly in hand*
I bet this was so much fun not the least of which is to explore a different area of photography.

I think that is SO cool!

Ummm…not that it’ll make you feel any better…but I so wouldn’t have been able to pick him out of a crowd either. Sounds like fun and it looks like your got some cool images.

he’s pretty hot.

Picking him out of a crowd is easy. Just see who the crowd is focused on… that would be Payton. :) Great pics, Matt!

Oh, Man. That is exactly the kind of opportunity I dream about. And if you ever get to photograph Peyton again, you seriously better call me to be your “equipment carrier”. Ethan has been a fan of Peyton since he was 2. Literally.
I did get to meet Phil Fulmer once, though. He was exceptionally nice.
BTW, how does that work, exactly? Do you get to keep the rights to the photos or do they all belong to the magazine?

Nice, Matt. He seems like a pretty cool guy for a Super Bowl MVP. I thought he was pretty funny when he hosted SNL. Check out this clip on Youtube if you missed it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=NZpPf-q2_es
